Anderson, SC| If you have been driving down Whitehall Rd, Greenville St, or even Hwy 8, Pelzer. You may have noticed people walking or sitting down holding signs. upstatenewstoday.com inquired about the reason they were on strike. Roughly 17,000 people across 9 states are currently on strike. One person who wishes to remain anonymous stated that the CEO of AT&T in 2020 made 20 million dollars. In 2023, the CEO made 26 million. The group is a part of CWA District 3. In the latest Bargaining Report, CWA is committed to finding a resolution. This all comes as workers feel like top brass wages keep increasing while the workers on the ground stay the same. The members are looking for a fair contract to increase wages and benefits. The workers are looking for more healthcare, and workers claim the company violated the National Labor Relations Act due to them not in good faith bargaining for a fair contact that would address and fix these issues.

Update: Release for the CWA District 3 Vice-President

I am pleased to announce that we have reached tentative agreements with AT&T Southeast, Utility Operations, & AT&T Billing. I would like to congratulate our bargaining team for their success at
the bargaining table, and extend a special thanks to all of the CWA members across District 3 for your dedication, which ultimately enabled our bargaining team to reach an agreement. As you know, this round of negotiations was more challenging than ever before, and it took all of us standing together in unity, on picket lines across District 3, for over a month, to force the company to actually bargain with us.
In summary, this agreement will provide us with a five (5) year contract, a 19.33% compounded wage increase for employees in every job title, lower medical costs, numerous contract improvements, along with additional wage increases for Machine Operators & Wire Technicians.
Once again, I would like to thank all of you for your sacrifices, and the unprecedented solidarity that exists within our Union. Together, we have fought hard to create a better future for CWA members in District 3. We hope that this agreement serves as proof that when workers stand together and fight, we can win.
Richard Honeycutt
CWA District 3 Vice President

At&t needs to get in gear, and figure out how they can take care of their workers. They wouldn’t be where they are today if it weren’t built on the breaking backs of these workers. They work all day and into the night to keep people connected . In the meantime the company loves to spend millions of dollars to advertise, and support all these sports broadcasts. All the while they can’t afford to give the employees a raise; that is literally pocket change to them. #CancelAT&T

Well Ole John Snakey can’t afford his second yacht if he was just handing out money for his people!? How else is he get box seats to all his games and events? 26 million to do absolutely nothing all year? Sign me up. These workers deserve more for the dangerous job they do on a daily basis. The company obviously doesn’t care about them. Only just the bottom line and to make sure Ole Stankey gets his bonus
