Starr, SC| At 4:43 pm, Starr Fire Department, Medshore Ambulance Service, Anderson County EMS Paramedic, and Anderson County Coroner’s Office responded to the 400 block of Stevenson Rd in Starr for a male trapped under a car. The patient was pronounced deceased on the scene. The Anderson County Coroner’s Office has responded to the scene. The Coroner’s Office will release more details soon.

advised that his office is investigating the death of a man after a vehicle fell on him. The
incident occurred around 4:47 pm today in Starr, SC.
Anderson County Fire Department, Anderson County EMS, Medshore Ambulance
Service and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 report of a man
who was trapped under a vehicle. The victim was removed from under the vehicle by
friends and family prior to the arrival of first responders. The decedent succumbed to his
injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim has been identified as:

50-year-old-male from Starr, SC
The investigation indicates the victim was working on a vehicle at his residence. The
victim was under the vehicle with the vehicle being supported on a jack. It appears the
jack failed and trapped the victim under the vehicle. The victim sustained blunt force
chest trauma resulting in traumatic asphyxiation and the manner of death has been
classified as accidental.
The investigation is on-going by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner.
