Anderson, SC| Around 2:20 a.m. Sunday, Anderson County 911 received a call about a vehicle-vs.-pedestrian collision at Ellis Drive and Highway 29 North. Whitefield Fire Department and Anderson County EMS Paramedics responded. The Patient was pronounced deceased on the scene. The Anderson County Coroner’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT team are investigating this accident. No other injuries were reported.

A 30-year-old male from Honea Path, SC
The victim died as a result of multiple traumatic injuries secondary to blunt force trauma and the manner of death has been ruled accidental.
The investigation indicates that the victim was walking on the highway when he was struck by a white Nissan Altima that was traveling south on Highway 29 North.
The investigation is ongoing by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT Team.
More details will be released from the Coroner’s Office and Highway Patrol later Sunday.
