Piedmont, SC| Thursday afternoon Wren and Powdersville Fire Departments, Medshore Ambulance Service, and Anderson County EMS Paramedic responded to River Road for a one car motor vehicle accident. One person was pronounced deceased on scene. The decedent was the only occupient in the vehicle. South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Anderson County Coroner’s Office are investigating this accident.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as LINDA MAE COX 79-year-old female from Piedmont, SC.
The victim died as a result of multiple traumatic injuries secondary to blunt force trauma. The investigation indicates that the victim was the operator of a vehicle traveling southeast on River Street in Piedmont, SC when she apparently lost control of her vehicle and traveled off the roadway, striking several trees and embankment. The decedent was the only occupant of the vehicle and was unrestrained at the time of the accident. The victim was apparently traveling
