Anderson, SC| The Anderson County Coroner’s Office, Zion Fire Department, Medshore Ambulance Service, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, and South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to mile marker 17 on Interstate 85 for a person who suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. It appears the person was from Georgia. The Anderson County Coroner’s Office will not release the name of the deceased due to the nature of the incident. Normally, we would not report on suicides, but due to the large police presence and the location of the incident, we wanted to let the public know. The Anderson County Coroner’s Office, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, and South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate this incident.
