Paramedics arrived on scene and pronounced one person deceased. Multiple Family members arrived on scene awaiting answers for their loved one. The initial call came out as multiple victims. When responders arrived only one person was found with a gunshot wound.

Chief of Police Jim Stewart said At 745pm APD and ACSO responded to 914 Osborne Avenue in regards to a shooting and multiple shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified black male with a fatal gunshot wound. Investigators are awaiting a search warrant, interviewing witnesses, and collecting evidence.

MICHAEL ALLEN RHODES

20-year-old Male from Anderson, SC

The victim was discovered on the front steps to his residence with a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased. The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was shot while on the front steps to the residence. The 911 call initially reported multiple people shot. Upon arrival of responders, it was determined that only one person had sustained a gunshot wound. Multiple people were reported fleeing the scene after the incident. An Autopsy has been scheduled to assist in the investigation and the cause of death has been determined to be gunshot wound to the head, the manner of death has been ruled homicide. The investigation is ongoing by the Anderson Police Department and the. Anderson County Office of the Coroner.
