Anderson, SC| Efforts are underway at the Anderson County Airport to help Hurricane Helene-torn Western North Carolina. Many Community Members and leaders have been helping pack waterproof bags to be delivered to residents bound by the destruction. Scott Dunn with Heli-Plane Aviation has coordinated efforts to get supplies together. Dunn says a helicopter will leave today, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, delivering many necessary supplies to people in need. Steve Kelly, with Anderson County EMS, brought expired supplies that would be thrown away, such as hand sanitizer from COVID-19, old ABD Pads, old 4x4s, and many other miscellaneous expired supplies. Mr. Dunn said if people want to donate items like non-perishable foods, paper towels, toilet paper, dog and cat food, bottled water, dry goods, flashlights, candles, etc., they can be delivered to 5825 A Airport Rd, Anderson, SC between 8 am-5 pm.
A gofundme has been setup to help support the cost of getting these supplies to Western North Carolina. Click the link below.
