Anderson, SC| During public comment time last Tuesday at the Anderson County Council Meeting, Stanley Hix, a resident of the Pendleton Community, stood up in opposition against the third reading of ordinance 2024-031. “An Ordinance to amend Chapter 24, Section 24-338 of the Code of Ordinances, Anderson County, South Carolina in order to establish the number of lots and size of lots which may be approved by the filing of a summary plat; and other matters related thereto.” The County Council’s goal was to lessen how many houses could be approved by the Anderson County Planning, Development, & Building. Before last Tuesday’s meeting, the Planning, Development, & Building could approve a subdivision of seven houses or less. Under the recently passed Ordinance 2024-031, the Planning, Development, & Building can only approve four or fewer homes.
