IN ANDERSON COUNTY
Anderson, SC (November 18, 2024) – Deputies with the Animal Control Unit have arrested a couple after they are responsible for the death and
mistreatment of several dogs in Anderson County. In October, the unit responded to Lindsey Street and found at least 14 dogs with
feces caked into their paws, ribs exposed, and even some facing major medical issues. When deputies arrived, a neighbor said the homeowners had been
absent for weeks, with dogs left behind dragging tethers and no sign of food or water. Thankfully, the unit saved more than a dozen dogs, but unfortunately, three had
already passed away from the deplorable conditions in which they were living. A search warrant of the property uncovered emaciated dogs and puppies, some
with visible wounds. On November 8th, our Animal Control Unit arrested boyfriend and girlfriend, 25-year-old Tyler Jackson, and 24-year-old Courtney Watson, for 17 counts of Ill-Treatment of Animals and three counts of Failure to Bury. They were booked into the Anderson County Detention Center and face an $81,500 Surety Bond.
