Anderson, SC| On Friday, Anderson County received five new trucks. Chief Jimmy Ray Sutherland said the tax referendum passed back in 2021 made the purchase of the brand-new trucks possible. The Anderson County Fire Department ordered 18 new Fire Trucks for $579,000 a piece. With all new equipment, the truck will cost around $600,000. These new trucks are replacing the mid-90s model trucks throughout various volunteer departments. Chief Sutherland stated that it takes roughly two to three years from the time of purchase for the truck to be delivered.
