West Palm Beach, FL| Trump International Golf Course, West Palm Beach, Florida. Ryan Wesley Routh has been identified as the shooter in the 2nd assassination attempt on Former President Trump’s life. Routh was armed with an AK-47-style weapon with a scope. Routh was also found with a backpack and a GoPro camera, said the FBI. Routh was about 300-500 yards from Trump. Secret Service spotted Routh and opened fire, sources say. Routh was able to escape but was later found by agents and arrested. Republicans and Democrats alike have called for the swift processicution of the Routh. Both parties have said violence has no place in politics. Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said the Secret Service should change its policy and treat Trump like an incumbent with a larger protective perimeter around him. “Stop being bureaucratic,” he said on X. “Do what’s necessary.” Running Mate J.D. Vance said Trump “was, amazingly, in good spirits,” he said in a post on X.”Still much we don’t know, but I’ll be hugging my kids extra tight tonight and saying a prayer of gratitude,” Vance added. Rep. Michael Waltz, R-Florida, wants the Secret Service to brief Congress in the coming week. This is the 2nd attempt on Trump’s life in just two months.
