Anderson, SC| Homeland Park Fire Department, Medshore Ambulance Service, and Anderson County EMS Paramedics responded to Abbeville Highway at East Roosevelt Drive for a one-car rollover. Initial reports from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office indicate that Deputies saw a stolen car and initiated a traffic stop. The suspect took off, and a chase ensued. The suspect wrecked in front of the Stop-a-Minit on Abbeville Highway. The suspect had non-life-threatening injuries when he left the scene by ambulance. The suspect will be charged once released from the hospital.
29 year-old Vonterious Richardson is facing several charges after deputies stopped him in his tracks behind the wheel of stolen vehicle Monday night.
Richardson is charged with Driving Under Suspension, Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Receiving Stolen Goods, Reckless Driving and Possession of Drugs.
Deputies spotted a white stolen Jeep and as they went to make contact with the driver on Highway 29 South, he took off.
A short pursuit ensued, with deputies successfully stopping the car along Abbeville Highway.
Several deputies noted Richardson’s reckless driving nearly resulted in several of them being hit, but thankfully they managed to dodge, taking the suspect into custody.
Richardson remains inside the Anderson County Detention Center.
