Pelzer, SC| Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, Greenville County Coroner’s Office, and Greenville County Forensics are on scene of a death investigation in the 500 block of Highway 8, Pelzer. The scene has been very active, with multiple agencies assisting in this investigation. Lt. Flood with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said Greenville Deputies received the call just before 8:00 am after a person discovered an unfamiliar vehicle parked in the front yard of a residence. Upon further observation, the female was found in the front passenger seat with at least one gunshot wound. This investigation is still in its early stages, and more information will be released when it is available. An autopsy will be done today, and further details will be released. Update|Investigators with the GCSO have arrested 40-year-old Phillip Charles Reeves in connection to the death of Mindy McDonald, who was murdered on September 18, 2024.
During the course of the investigation, investigators learned that Reeves, while in a vehicle with McDonald, shot her following their interaction. Reeves left the scene on foot and was located a short time after the incident and subsequently transported to the Greenville County Detention Center where he remains on no bond.
Reeves was charged with Murder and Possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a certain crime.
Update: Greenville County Coroner said the victim was Mindy Lee McDonald. McDonald died from a gun shot wound.
Update: Greenville County Coroner’s Office said the victim is a 41-year-old White Female. An Autopsy was done, and they will release more information as it becomes available.
