Gray Court, SC| SLED is investigating after an officer-involved shooting Thursday morning. This is the second officer-involved shooting in Laurens County. According to their Facebook page, “There is a heavy law enforcement presence in the area of Lakeview Drive and Hwy 101 in Gray Court. We will provide further info when possible. There is no danger to the public.” Laurens County Chief Deputy Coroner Patti Canupp has confirmed that the Laurens County Coroner’s Office did respond to Lake Road in Gray Court on October 10, 2024, for an officer-involved shooting. Canupp said that 37-year-old Antonio Lavar Sullivan was fatally shot. Canupp went on to say that Sullivan was possibly from the Asheville area. An autopsy is scheduled for October 11, 2024, to assist in the investigation.
A quick search: Antonio Lavar Sullivan has been in the Upstate Region of South Carolina for some time. Sullivan has many arrest records from Greenville and Spartanburg Counties.
