Townville, SC| Townville Fire Department, Medshore Ambulance Service, and Anderson County EMS Paramedics responded to Highway 24 at the Double Bridges for a two-car motor vehicle accident with a fatality. The identity of the deceased has not been released at this moment.
Anderson, SC (October 5, 2024, 8:45 pm) – Greg Shore, Coroner advised that his office is investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred around 12:00 pm this afternoon has resulted in one person’s death.
The collision occurred on Highway 24 near Wham Road in Anderson County. The Anderson County Fire Department, Medshore EMS, Anderson County EMS, South Carolina Highway Patrol, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the Coroner responded to the incident location.
The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The victim has been identified as: SANDRA B. YATES 67-year-old Female from Townville, SC.
The victim died as a result of multiple traumatic injuries secondary to blunt force trauma. The victim was the driver of a small sedan traveling east on highway 24 and appears to have crossed the center line and struck another vehicle in a head-on collision that was traveling west on highway 24. The victim was the only occupant of her vehicle, and no injuries were reported by the occupants of the other vehicle.
The investigation is on-going by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
