Anderson, SC| Two people were killed after a tree fell through their houses. At 7:30 am, the Coroner’s Office was dispatched to 419 West Whitner Street for a victim who was entrapped under a tree. The Coroner’s Office stated that the victim was located under heavy debris and pronounced deceased on the scene. The Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 55-year-old Christine Lynn Schmeiske.
























At 10:00 am, the Coroner’s Office was dispatched to 18 Williams Road off of Whiten Rd for a victim who was killed when a tree fell on her house. The investigation indicated the victim was in her residence, and due to the high winds and heavy rain of Hurricane Helene, a large tree fell across the center of the house and killed the victim. The Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 54-year-old Sandy Lee Fisher




Both of these deaths are still under investigation by the Anderson County Coroner’s Office and Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
